No Kings Chalk Demo

I recommend using a powder form chalk. You can order them from places like Amazon (click here for the kind I used in the sample video), or make you own. See my video for an example of how this worked for me, and how I applied the powder.

UPDATE: We did a test with Spray Chalk which worked well, but paper templates will be degraded after a few uses. We will try to do a test with an acetate template ASAP and update you accordingly.

  • This template was designed for a Cricut Machine but is likely to work with other machines or by hand
  • It is sized for 11×17 sized heavy card stock
  • There are 3 templates total
    • #1: Date & Time of event (skip this one if you live in another area and just freehand that portion)
    • #2: No Kings text
    • #3: Crown and X – do the crown first, then use the ‘X’ over the crown
  • I recommend using a bright yellow for the crown & bright pink, red or orange for the ‘X’

No Kings Text template.

Quick sample of Spray Chalk (sorry – we only had one color to work with for the test)

D.I.Y. Chalk Balls

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Sidewalk chalk (easiest, but any will do)
  • Fine cheese grater
  • Nylon/stocking

MAKE POWDER:

  • Grate 1 color at a time into a bowl/cup
  • Place finely grated chalk powder into toe (or center) of piece of nylon
  • Tie top in a knot

SIDE NOTE: Conceivably, you could leave the powder in a bowl and just use a cloth applicator (like this one). I have not tested this method, though.

HOW TO USE:

  • Place templates on ground/surface
  • Tap chalk ball (color/s of your choosing) on to template
